Celebrating the launch of Ballina Macra club.

Macra launches its newest Mayo club

MAYO Macra has officially launched a new club in Ballina, with a successful information night.

The event drew a strong turnout from young people in the area, all interested in building a new social and community group for those aged 17 to 35.

The evening included a presentation from Macra’s training and development officer, Siobhán Coyle, who spoke about the wide range of opportunities Macra offers.

She said: “Macra isn’t just for those from farming backgrounds - it’s a national social network that brings together young people from all walks of life. Whether you’re into sports, public speaking, travel or just want to meet new people, there’s something in Macra for everyone.”

Following a great response at the meeting, Ballina Macra is now up and running - and looking for more members. They are inviting new members to come along to the next meeting, taking place in Ballina Community Sports Centre (F26 T8N8) on Friday, May 16, at 7.30 p.m.

Local Councillor Marie Therese Duffy, who attended the launch, praised the initiative: “I’d encourage every young person in Ballina to join. It’s a relaxed, welcoming group and a great way to connect, especially in a rural area.”

Macra’s mission is to empower young adults through new experiences, leadership opportunities, and a strong sense of community. Whether you're looking to grow your skills or just have a good time with good people, Ballina Macra offers a space to do both.
