Call for small grant applications from Mayo for Irish-medium events on Culture Night
An tOireachtas, in conjunction with Oíche Chultúir, is calling for small grant applications for Irish-medium events outside of Gaeltacht regions on Oíche Chultúir 2025.
Returning for the 20th year, Oíche Chultúir will be held on Friday, September 19, and An tOireachtas is seeking applications regarding (but not limited to) the following themes: Irish-medium performing arts, dance, literature, heritage, music, visual arts, crafts, talk, tour and film. The deadline for applications is Thursday, June 12.
The aim is to facilitate Irish language networks across the island by providing a support package for groups organising events in Irish outside of Gaeltacht regions during Oíche Chultúir.
The support package includes a small grant (maximum of €250, although a case may be submitted for a greater sum in exceptional circumstances) and publicity on social media as well as in local, regional and national media.
“Culture Night offers a unique opportunity for Irish-medium arts and cultural events to be showcased to all those living on this island,” said Máirín Nic Dhonnchadha, CEO of An tOireachtas.
“We’re looking forward to receiving applications which demonstrate the multiplicity and diversity of the Irish artistic landscape across the country on this special night from those who hope to seize the opportunity of this national occasion to organise special performances and various other creative, imaginative events.
“An tOireachtas welcomes applications for grants to assist Irish-medium events on Culture Night again this year.”
Registration forms and all details are available on the An tOireachtas website at www.antoireachtas.ie.
