Outdoor recreation structure in south Mayo town restored

THE outdoor recreation structure at the rear of the Square in Claremorris has been replaced.

The popular amenity was damaged during the most recent storm.

Local Councillor Richard Finn requested efforts be made to have the structure replaced prior to the summer season.

And he had good news for the monthly municipal district meeting - it has been replaced.

Couuncillor Finn thanked the municipal staff for getting the works completed. Though he did note how, with the fine weather we've been having, some people believe we'd be better without it.

But Councillor Finn said there's another nine or 10 months of the year to think about too and it was most welcome to see it back again.

He also had one further request - that lighting be followed up.
