Mayo escapes thunderstorm warning as weather to remain dry

The county could yet see record low-levels of rainfall this month, according to the latest forecast.

TUESDAY, MAY 20

Largely dry at first on Tuesday with a mix of cloud and sunny spells.

However, showers will soon develop.

Some will be heavy with spot flooding and isolated thunderstorms possible.

Cloud will build in southern parts during the afternoon.

Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 Celsius in mostly light southerly or variable breezes.

Some heavy showers to start the week but mainly dry and sunny weather returning around midweek.

Turning mixed and changeable from the Atlantic next weekend.

TUESDAY NIGHT

Mostly cloudy conditions with patchy rain and drizzle across southern parts of the country will gradually clear southwards overnight, with the largely dry and clear conditions elsewhere following down from the north.

Lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees, in light variable breezes with some areas of mist and shallow fog forming around dawn.
