Ten Mayo organisations receive €307,615 funding boost
The Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht Dara Calleary has announced funding of over €322,000 for 10 Mayo organisations under the Growing Social Enterprise Scheme as part of Dormant Accounts Funding 2025.
The minister said: “This is part of a €4 million investment nationwide and will provide capital grant supports to assist social enterprises across Ireland to achieve their social, environmental or economic objectives.
"The funding provided will be used for building works, repairs, refurbishments, or for the purchase of new machinery, vehicles or equipment.
“This funding will directly enable social enterprises to develop and expand the vital services that they provide in communities all across Ireland.
“I fully appreciate, and have seen first-hand, the invaluable work carried out by social enterprises around the country and I am pleased to be able to support these organisations, particularly the organisations here in Mayo that do so such positive work and contribute so much to their respective communities. The organisations that I am funding under this tranche are listed below,” he said.
FR PEYTON CENTRE ATTYMASS €82,139 - To fund retrofitting of windows and doors for enhanced sustainability, enabling retrofitting of the existing building, improving energy efficiency.
ST COLMAN’S DAY CENTRE €62,165 - To fund the renovation of the external pathways of the building for ease of access. Replacement of fuel tank and the purchasing of a generator and new doors to the front and rear exits of the building.
LINENHALL ARTS CENTRE €96,989 - To fund a range of upgrades and improvements including; accessibility to customer toilets, new flooring, renovations to the coffee shop, inclusion of a dedicated storage area, installing a new box office, projector and screen, along with carrying out upgrades to their current IT systems, and additional signage.
AGHAMORE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMPANY €14,848 - To fund the purchase of maintenance equipment for the all-weather pitch, enabling increased usage to 95% and supporting over 25 local sporting societies.
LEAVE NO TRACE €14,782 - To fund a suite of digital tools that will enhance Leave No Trace Ireland’s operational and outreach capabilities. This includes the purchase of a video conferencing bar, rugged tablets, two laptops, and a Go Pro.
CASTLEBAR SOCIAL SERVICES €13,248 - To fund the purchase of sustainable reusable meal trays and a new dishwasher, including plumbing works.
DOLMEN CLUBHOUSE BALLINA €13,015 - To fund the installation of solar PV panels to help reduce electricity costs.
BALLYHEANE SPORTS CLUB €9,478 - To fund the purchase of a new computer and printer to enhance administrative efficiency and improve the quality of promotional materials for the community centre.
COMMUNITY RADIO CASTLEBAR €9,296 - To fund a dedicated podcasting studio that is capable of producing top quality audio and quality video.
SEIRBHI CÚRAM CILL CHOMÁIN €6,437 - To fund the upgrade of current furniture in the organisation's community centre.
