Mayo and Galway set for Connacht final showdown
The 2025 TG4 Connacht LGFA Senior Championship winners will be determined on Sunday as Mayo host holders Galway in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park, Castlebar.
The Tribeswomen are aiming for back-to-back titles, while Mayo are looking to regain a crown they last held in 2023.
The sides have already met in the round-robin stages in what was a dead rubber as both sides had already progressed to the final.
Galway won comfortably on that occasion by 2-13 to 0-9 and based on form to date in 2025, it’s difficult to see past the the defending champions again.
Galway were in experimental mode when they met Mayo, taking the opportunity to run the rule over a number of players.
For the final, they’ve made six changes in personnel, with Sarah Ní Loingsigh, Chellene Trill, Louise Ward, Olivia Divilly, Lynsey Noone and Róisín Leonard named to start.
Dropping out of the team are Aoibhinn Eilian, Charlotte Cooney, Aisling Madden, Leanne Coen, Eva Noone and Shauna Hynes.
Mayo have made two changes to the team that started last time out, with Ella Brennan and Saoirse Lally replacing Annie Gough and Suzanne Tuohy.
The winners of this contest will join Donegal and Tipperary in Group 1 of the TG4 All-Ireland Championship, with the provincial runners-up pitted with the Munster champions, Kerry or Waterford, as well as Cork.
Sunday's Connacht final will be live-streamed on the Spórt TG4 YouTube channel.
