Family affair - Mayo school marks end of a unique era

A Mayo secondary school has marked the end of a unique era this week.

It's been a family affair for the Jennings girls, with five siblings attending Mount Saint Michael in Claremorris at the same time.

But with big sister Tara now moving on, it brings an end to this special era.

Mount Saint Michael, on its social media, recorded how Wednesday marked a special and emotional day as Tara celebrated her graduation - and with it, her final day in school with her four sisters, Valerie, Shauna, Emma and Katie.

Said the school: 'After checking the records, we're fairly certain this is the only year we've had five sisters attending the school at the same time - a truly unique moment in our history!

'Best of luck to Tara as she takes the next step, and thank you to the entire Jennings family for the mark they’ve made on our school community.'
