Free parking outside pharmacies in Mayo town under consideration
THE option of free parking for 15 minutes outside pharmacies in Ballina is under consideration, as is free parking for ratepayers in the town's car parks.
The issues were raised at the May monthly meeting of Ballina Municipal District, where cathaoirleach Councillor Michael Loftus said one free parking space for each business ratepayer is requested.
Any change to parking regulations was subject to review and a change to the bylaws, said the head of Ballina MD, Declan Turnbull.
While promising to look at the options, he pointed out that free spaces for ratepayers would lead to a 'fairly heavy' reduction in income.
