Tractor, truck and vintage run returns to Headfest in aid of Ability West

A much-anticipated highlight of the Headfest weekend returns this year with the tractor, truck and vintage run taking place on Saturday, May 31. Starting from Headford Livestock Mart and Property Sales at 3 p.m. sharp, this annual event brings together vehicle enthusiasts and the wider community for a great cause.

Last year, over 150 vehicles took part and the event raised approximately €15,000 for local charities.

This year’s run is in support of Ability West, with all funds going towards the installation of sensory rooms in local services for people with intellectual disabilities.

Sensory rooms are specially designed environments that help individuals regulate their sensory input, reduce anxiety, and develop important coping skills. They also promote social interaction, sensory-motor development, and improved focus and concentration.

These spaces can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who use them, offering calm and stimulation in a supportive setting.

As always, the event includes prizes for standout vehicles, with awards for Best Truck, Best

Tractor and Best Vintage Car, generously sponsored by local businesses.

Councillor Andrew Reddington has shared a video outlining the run’s route, available to view on the Headfest Facebook page.

The tractor, truck and vintage run continues to be one of Headfest’s most successful fundraising events, combining community spirit, heritage and generosity. Organisers are hoping to see even more participants and supporters this year as they work to raise vital funds for a worthy cause.
