Blessing of the restoration works completed at Mayo Plot of the Angels

Mayo University Hospital (MUH) is holding a blessing following restoration works at Plot of the Angels in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.

MUH is inviting all parents or family members who have babies buried in the Plot of the Angels, staff of Mayo University Hospital, and members of the wider community who wish to attend.

The blessing will take part in New Cemetery, Newport Road, Castlebar, on Wednesday, June 18, at 12.30 p.m.

Rhona Sweeney, Bereavement Support Midwife at Mayo University Hospital said, “This blessing marks the care and restoration of the Plot of the Angels.

"This is a place of quiet remembrance for lives gone too soon. All are welcome to join us in reflection and support.”
