All you need to know about the Mayo Pride Festival

Mayo Pride returns to Westport from Friday next, May 30, to Monday, June 2, bringing over 20 exciting events to a jam-packed bank holiday weekend.

This year’s theme, “Love Won But We’re Not Done,” marks the 10th anniversary of Ireland’s historic marriage equality vote.

It’s a time to reflect on how far we’ve come while recognising that the journey to equality and inclusion continues, especially in rural Ireland.

Whether you're part of the LGBTQ+ community or just want to show your support and have some craic, Mayo Pride welcomes everyone with a full programme of nature, comedy, music, food and family-friendly events.

Why Mayo Pride Matters

Mayo Pride is more than a celebration. It’s also an invitation to the wider community to come together to show support to their LGBTQ+ colleagues and friends.

Mayo Pride chairs Fiona Wilde and Shaun Lavelle said: “Living as a queer person in rural Ireland can be both beautiful and isolating, but Mayo Pride changes that. It’s a lifeline.

"The one time in the year when there’s a physical space for us to gather together — a place where we see each other and feel seen and know we belong.”
