Gaelscoil Uileog De Búrca’s penchant for goals proved decisive in this Mayo Cumann na mBunscol Division Two Boys Football decider final at MacHale Park today.

Louisburgh gave it their all throughout this contest, but lost out to the better team on the day.

No doubt the yellow and black will learn from this defeat and return to Mayo GAA HQ to contest another final in the not too distant future.

Gaelscoil Uileog De Búrca played some devastating football during the early stages of this clash, with their opening score of the game a three-pointer from Evan O’Catháin.

Further goals were notched by Conor O’Murchú (2), Conall O’Baoill, and Liam MacTomáis, much to the delight of the Uileog De Búrca supporters.

Conor O’Murchú registered his hat-trick of goals on eight minutes, however, a doughty Louisburgh responded impressively and they notched their opening score of the game courtesy of a superb green-flagged effort by Leo Maxwell.

A hard-working Louisburgh did their utmost to halt their opponents momentum.

However, O’Murchú continued to busily search for scores and he netted his fourth goal of the first half for Uileog De Búrca after 10 minutes.

Six minutes into the new half, Louisburgh’s work-rate paid off when Alex O’Malley netted a goal.

Gaelscoil, though, continued to play some tidy football and their final goal of the day was scored by Jonah O’Domhnaill.
