Mayo’s Thomas Morley nominated for FAI U-19 award
Mayo native Thomas Morley has been nominated for the FAI Men’s Under-19 International Player of the Year award.
The midfielder, who plays with Sligo Rovers, is one of three players shortlisted for the prize, alongside Jacob Devaney of Manchester United and Derby County’s Freddie Turley.
A former player with Kiltimagh/Knock United, Morley’s nomination has been welcomed by his local club, who congratulated him on social media ahead of Friday’s awards ceremony at the Aviva Stadium.
The event will take place prior to the Republic of Ireland’s senior international friendly against Senegal on Friday evening.
The FAI International Awards recognise performances from June 2024 to May 2025.
The winners across various categories will be announced on the night, along with this year’s Hall of Fame inductees and the recipient of the Special Merit award.
