Popular Mayo businesswoman shortlisted for top award
Castlebar-based businesswoman Lorraine Hall, director of The Cleaning Corporation, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious Network Ireland, Mayo Businesswoman of the Year Awards — a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding career and longstanding contribution to both business and community life in the region.
Renowned for its first-class commercial contract cleaning services, and residential carpet, upholstery, and rug cleaning, The Cleaning Corporation has earned a reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation.
This year marks the company’s 30th anniversary — a significant milestone that reflects the leadership and dedication of Lorraine and her husband John, who manages operations.
Lorraine joined the business in 1999 following a successful career in HR, training, and recruitment in the corporate sector.
Under her guidance, The Cleaning Corporation has continued to evolve and lead in areas such as sustainability — including the harvesting of rainwater for window cleaning, a practice implemented nearly two decades ago.
Lorraine’s impact extends well beyond the business. A passionate community advocate, she has long supported numerous local initiatives and charitable organisations across Mayo.
She also serves as a mentor to emerging professionals, helping to cultivate the next generation of business leaders.
“All my life I’ve been motivated, self-driven and enthusiastic about learning and developing new skills to grow our business,” said Lorraine.
“What I value most now is sharing those skills and supporting others on their journey.
“It is both an honour and a privilege to be a finalist in two categories in this years awards.”
A proud and active member of Network Ireland for over 30 years, Lorraine holds the distinction of being the longest-standing member of Network Mayo.
Over the decades, she has played a vital role in supporting, educating, and empowering women in business across the region.
“Being part of Network Ireland has been invaluable,” she said.
“It’s helped me grow both personally and professionally and now, I’m especially passionate about giving back — offering mentorship, leadership, knowledge and encouragement to others.”
On June 13, Lorraine will travel to Brussels to take part in an EU-driven initiative advocating for greater flexibility in commercial cleaning schedules.
The campaign highlights the importance of daytime cleaning and promotes better work-life balance across the industry — an initiative aligned with The Cleaning Corporation’s values and progressive approach.
With an impressive track record of awards and achievements, Lorraine continues to push boundaries and set new standards in her field.
As the Businesswoman of the Year Awards draw near, she stands as a highly deserving finalist and an inspiring ambassador for women in business — not just in the west of Ireland, but nationwide.
