Mayo appointment to Irish Museums Association board

YVONNE Corcoran Loftus, manager at the Jackie Clarke Collection in Ballina, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Irish Museums Association for the Connaught province.

A statement from the Collection welcoming her appointment said: “We know that Yvonne will be a great asset to the board, bringing with her a wealth of in-depth experience of both non-government-funded rural museums and local authority-funded institutions.

“We know that she will be an amazing representative on the board not only for us here at the Collection but for all museums in our county and province. We could not be more proud of her and this incredible achievement.”

Prior to joining the Jackie Clarke Collection, Ms. Corcoran Loftus was the curator of the Michael Davitt Museum (2013 - 2024), where she successfully guided them through interim, full, and maintenance accreditation stages of the Museum Standards Programme for Ireland (MSPI), and has since enrolled the Jackie Clarke Collection in the same programme.
