Mayo councillor issues update on Westport water outage and traffic disruptions

Councillor Brendan Mulroy has provided an update on social media regarding a planned water outage and associated traffic disruptions affecting parts of Westport later this week.

The disruption is due to essential mains repair works being carried out as part of the National Leakage Reduction Programme. As a result, water supply may be impacted in the Ballinrobe Road area of Westport and surrounding locations.

The works are scheduled to take place on Monday, June 9, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Motorists and residents in the area are advised to expect both water service interruptions and possible traffic delays during this time.

Irish Water has advised that it may take 3–4 hours after the estimated restoration time for full water pressure and supply to return to all affected properties.
