Mayo's first dog park going to tender

MAYO'S first dog park is going to tender today.

It will be located at Lough Lannagh in Castlebar.

The welcome news was shared by Councillor Donna Sheridan, cathaoirleach of the Castlebar Municipal District, yesterday evening.

She said: “In December 2023 I put a motion to the Castlebar MD that we would conduct a feasibility study on developing a dog park in Castlebar.

“After much hard work, tomorrow the dog park will go to tender and soon we will have the first dog park in the county in Lough Lannagh.”

Councillor Sheridan thanked her fellow councillors, who supported the motion, and the team in the MD office who worked hard to make the project happen.

And she reported how both she and her two pets, Charlie and Ruby, are 'really excited and looking forward to this new amenity'.
