Passing of mother of Mayo TD deeply mourned
There is deep sadness in Castlebar, Ballycroy, Kerry, and beyond following the passing of Philomena (Phill) Conway (née Enright) of Riversdale Court, Castlebar, and formerly of Lagduff, Ballycroy and Lisselton, Co. Kerry.
Mrs Conway died peacefully at University Hospital Galway.
A woman of great warmth and generosity, she was widely known and held in the highest regard in her adopted Mayo and native Kerry.
She was the beloved mother of Mayo Sinn Féin TD, Deputy Rose Conway-Walsh, and was predeceased by her son Colum and daughter Nora-Mai.
Deeply mourned by her heartbroken family, daughters Rose, Philo, Sinead and Fiona, sons Peter Paul, Dermot and Michael, and their partners, she will be forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
She is also sadly missed by her adored grandchildren, sisters Nora-Mai Walsh and Katie Sweeney, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing will take place at Kilcoyne Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, on Saturday, June 14, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with removal to the Church of the Holy Family, Ballycroy, arriving at 7 p.m.
