Road to top Mayo visitor location in 'deplorable state'
THE poor condition of the road to one of Mayo's major tourism attractions, Croagh Patrick, has been highlighted by local Councillor Chris Maxwell. The R335 is in a 'deplorable state', he told council management.
It's one of the most widely used roads in the county and its condition is only getting worse.
Important from a tourism and local point of view, Councillor Maxwell asked when something is going to be done to bring it up to an acceptable standard.
He was told there is some element of funding this year for the road.
