Unhappy with reinstatement after Mayo water meter works

UISCE Éireann has been taken to task over the condition of reinstatement works where it installs water meters.

Councillor Ger Deere said that in his district of Castlebar, they didn't finish around where meters were put in. And he also cited where some manholes are collapsing.

It's a recipe for disaster with trips and falls, he told the monthly meeting of Mayo County Council, asking who has oversight of this.

“We need to get tough with Uisce Éireann,” he said, concerning the condition of manholes and meters.
