Road works commenced today at busy Mayo junction on N5

ROAD works commenced today at a busy junction on the N5 at Swinford.

TII are conducting road works at the R320/N5 junction (Kiltimagh Road) from Monday, June 16.

It is understood they will take a number of days to complete.

Temporary traffic management will be in operation and motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for journeys.

The advice from Mayo County Council to motorists is to use alternative routes.

Also in the Swinford area, road pavement works are taking place on the L-1902 Midfield road from Monday to Friday, June 16 to 20. Road closures are in place during the day and diversions are in operation. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.

Road pavement works are also taking place later this week on the L-1301 at Ardhoom, Meelick, from Wednesday to Friday. Again, road closures will be in place during the day and diversions are in operation.
