Motorcyclist (40s) loses life in fatal Mayo traffic collision
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision involving a motorcycle on the R331 at Friarsquarter East, Ballinrobe, yesterday evening.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision, involving a motorcycle, that occurred shortly after 7.40 p.m.
The motorcyclist, a male aged in his 40’s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body has been conveyed to Mayo University Hospital.
The Coroner has been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The road was preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 7.30 and 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
