Action demanded after new Mayo roundabouts labelled 'disgraceful'

Two elected members of Castlebar Municipal District involved in keeping the community clean and tidy have issued a plea in regard to the condition of two new roundabouts in the county town.

Councillor Blackie Gavin, attached to the local Community Clean Up Group, and Councillor Ger Deere of Castlebar Tidy Towns want a letter sent to Transport Infrastructure Ireland in relation to the two roundabouts at Derrylea and Windsor.

They said they are both 'disgraceful' and requested that immediate action is taken to enhance them in order to create greater a better first impressive of the town for visitors.
