Community Radio Castlebar (CRCfm) has appointed a new manager.
He is Philip Bourke, a native of Sarnaught, Castlebar, and is due to take up his position shortly.
Philip has considerable experience in the broadcasting board, having previously worked with Redfm in Cork as well as Radio Kerry.
Jimmy Blake, chairman of the board at CRCfm, said they are delighted with the appointment and he wished Philip every success in leading the station into a new era of success.
The station, which is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, is staging an outside broadcast at Market Square on Saturday next, June 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. with lots of live entertainment and everybody is involved to attend.
There's also a special day of broadcasting next Friday when a number of the station's original presenters will be back in the hot seat from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. while, in the afternoon, the success and longevity of The Grapevine programme will be marked with a wide range of guests on air to discuss highlights of the show over the years.
