Excitement is building for Queen of the Lakes pageant in Mayo

One of the Ballinrobe Queen of the Lakes contestants, Alanah Joyce, received her sash last Friday night.

The sash presentation took place at the weekly ‘Dancing at the Crossroads’ event held in the Crossroads Community Centre, Cong.

Alanah is sponsored by ‘Dancing at the Crossroads’ a weekly social dancing event organised by Marilyn and Paddy McTigue and held every Friday night in the Crossroads Community Centre, Cong.

Each Queen of the Lakes contestant will have a ‘Princess of the Lake’ representative and Alanah’s representative is Naiya Grimes.

The Queen of the Lakes pageant will take place in the Pavillion at Ballinrobe Racecourse, on Sunday, July 27.

The Ballinrobe Festival runs from July 19 to July 27 and festival tickets are available to purchase in Martin Murphy’s Newsagent, Main Street, Ballinrobe.
