Mayo’s relegation qualifier with Leitrim fixed for Tubbercurry
The Ladies Gaelic Football Association has confirmed details of Mayo's TG4 Senior Championship relegation qualifier against Leitrim.
The game has been fixed for Saturday, July 5, in Kilcoyne Park, Tubbercurry, with a throw-in time of 2 p.m. Sligo’s Gus Chapman will be the match referee.
Ulster rivals Donegal and Armagh face each other in the other relegation qualifier. The fixture details have yet to be confirmed.
Mayo finished bottom of Group 2 after defeats to Kerry and Cork, though they came close to getting a result against the latter in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park on Saturday that would have placed them in the quarterfinals. A draw would have been enough given their slightly better scoring difference going into the encounter.
Leitrim, meanwhile, were well beaten in both of their Group 4 games against Dublin and Waterford.
Mayo and Leitrim played in the Connacht Championship in late April, with Liam McHale's charges emerging with a 2-11 to 1-11 victory in Swinford.
