Echoes of Westport – a celebration of stories and memories

This year Westport will mark 50 years of its unique arts festival, Westival (Westport Music and Arts Festival), and a new book is set to be released to celebrate the occasion.

The new and exciting book project titled ‘Echoes of Westport - A Celebration of Stories and Memories’ will be a commemorative collection celebrating the spirit of Westport and the festival that has shaped the town’s creative soul. This project is being run in partnership with Tertulia Bookshop, Westport.

Whether it’s a treasured memory, a fictional tale inspired by Westport, or a story handed down through generations, the people behind this special commemoration want to hear your voice.

Those interested in having a story published in ‘Echoes of Westport’ can submit their story (maximum 500 words) - real or imaginative - here.

Please note that the story must be text only, no images, and that the deadline for submissions is midnight, July 31.

A panel of local writers, book reviewers and editors will select the top 50 entries to be published in the book, which will be launched during Westival.

Every submission will be displayed at the launch event for attendees to read.

The book launch for Echoes of Westport – A Celebration of Stories and Memories will take place in Tertulia Bookshop, Westport, on Thursday, October 23, with readings from selected stories, live music and refreshments.
