Dallas star on ancestral visit to Mayo

DALLAS star Patrick Duffy dropped by his ancestral Mayo home, Kilmovee, this week.

World famous for his role as Bobby Ewing in the iconic television series, Duffy is in Ireland filming a new documentary.

On his travels he paid a visit to Kilmovee Community Centre, accompanied by his partner Linda Purl, to film footage for the documentary exploring his Irish roots. He also visited the 'family pub' - Duffy's - in Kilmovee.

The actor has visited Mayo on numerous occasions, including in 2022, tracing his ancestry and connecting with relatives.

Once again the community in Kilmovee was out to welcome him home this week at Kilmovee Community Centre.

He also dropped by Duffy's pub where he enjoyed a pint and interviewed Brian Duffy for the documentary. He's understood to be a third cousin of the publican's.

Sharing footage on their social media, Kilmovee Community Centre group said: “We were thrilled to welcome the legendary Patrick Duffy and his lovely girlfriend Linda Purl as Patrick filmed footage for an upcoming documentary exploring his Irish roots.

“It was amazing to be part of Patrick's journey connecting with his heritage right here in our community.

“Both Patrick and Linda were absolutely wonderful - so warm, friendly, and generous with their time. They took photos with our entire team and made everyone feel special.

“Can't wait to see how our little corner of Ireland features in the documentary.”
