Mayo Mountain Rescue assist climber on Croagh Patrick
MAYO Mountain Rescue came to the assistance of a female climber on Croagh Patrick yesterday evening.
At 7 p.m., the team was called out by An Garda Síochána to assist a woman on the mountain. She had been climbing for a long time, with her adult daughter, and became unwell and couldn’t continue, so they called for assistance.
The first response team quickly located the woman on the track, approximately 10 minutes from the car park. After providing immediate emergency care and a brief rest, volunteers helped her safely walk back to the car park.
The team, on their social media, sent best wishes to the woman for a speedy and full recovery.
Attention at Mayo Mountain Rescue is also turning to recruiting new volunteers.
If you think you would like to join this great team of volunteers, watch out for their recruitment campaign around the middle of August, which will provide all the relevant information.
