Thunderstorm warning for Mayo

A Status Yellow thunderstorm warning has been issued for a number of counties this afternoon, including Mayo.

Met Éireann has warned of heavy, thundery downpours in parts.

The warning is valid from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Potential impacts include surface water flooding, lightning damage, difficult travelling conditions, and some outdoor events may be impacted.

A Status Yellow high temperature warning is also in place in Mayo and other counties today from noon to 6 p.m., with maximum temperatures in excess of 27°C expected in parts of the country.
