Beat the breeze at north Mayo's Céide Coast Atlantic Run

REGISTRATION is now officially open for the Céide Coast Atlantic Run hosted by Ballycastle Athletic Club - a breathtaking half marathon and 10k event along some of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.

This year’s run will take place on Saturday, September 20, at 12 noon.

One of the most scenic routes in Ireland, runners will pass along the wild, rugged north Mayo Céide Coast, encounter iconic landmarks such as the Céide Fields Visitor Centre, the breath-taking Céide cliffs, Ballycastle beach, and Dún Briste, the famous sea-stack at Downpatrick Head.

“We’re thrilled to welcome runners from all over to experience this unforgettable route,” said Joe Gardiner, race director. “The Céide Coast Atlantic Run offers more than just a race; it’s a celebration of Ballycastle’s natural heritage and a chance to immerse yourself in the raw beauty of the Atlantic coastline.”

Register online here.

On the race day, the half-marathon will start at 12 p.m. The Céide Coast Atlantic Run route will commence at the spectacular Céide Fields Visitor Centre and will follow the coast road, passing Ballycastle beach, before proceeding to Downpatrick Head.

There is also an option to participate in a 10k run which will also depart from the Céide Fields Visitor Centre and follows the coastal route back towards Ballycastle along the spectacular Céide cliffs.
