Three tight games in Mayo senior football league finals

Three very tight games have been played out in the Abbvie Mayo GAA Senior Football League finals at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park, Castlebar.

Two of the games went to extra time, including the Division 1 encounter between Breaffy and Crossmolina, with the former winning out by a single point in the end (2-23 to 2-22) to collect the David Gavin Memorial Cup - a trophy named after a former club player who passed away tragically in 2017.

The first of the finals played, the Division 4 decider between Mayo Gaels B and Kiltane B, also needed extra time before a winner could be found. In the end, Mayo Gaels B secured the win on a 3-26 to 4-11 scoreline.

In between those two games, the Division 2 final looked like it was going to extra time too with as Ballaghaderreen and Aghamore were tied at 2-14 to 0-20 deep into injury time. However, Ballagh' captain Luke O'Grady popped over the winning point with mere seconds left to secure silverware for the border men.

The Division 3 final between Ardagh and Aghamore B will be played early on Sunday afternoon in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park.
