Mayo Celebrates Palestine community event
MAYO Celebrates Palestine is an exciting and welcoming community event organised by Palestinian women living right here in Mayo, supported by the local branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC).
Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 26, from 12 to 5 p.m., and head to the beautiful gardens of the Jackie Clarke Collection in Ballina for a day filled with culture, connection, and fun.
Taste a delicious selection of traditional Palestinian food, immerse yourself in captivating art exhibitions, enjoy beautiful henna tattoos, solidarity face painting, and participate in the traditional Palestinian dance, dabka.
A special selection from the internationally acclaimed HeART of Gaza exhibition will be on display, featuring powerful artworks by Gaza's youngest residents.
Also, visit the Ballina Arts Centre on the same day to view the incredible 305-metre-long Granny Squares for Gaza installation, a heartfelt expression of solidarity and friendship with the people of Gaza.
This is a chance to demonstrate that Ireland truly is the land of saints, scholars, and the céad míle fáilte. Solidarity begins with understanding and empathy, and Mayo has a proud tradition of both.
Everyone is warmly invited - bring your family, friends and neighbours - and admission is completely free.
