Former UK PM reunites with Mayo's Enda Kenny
Former Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron today reunited with Castlebar's own Enda Kenny during a visit to Sunningdale Golf Club, as part of the final PGA TOUR Champions event of the season.
Cameron shared the moment on social media, posting a photo with Mr. Kenny after a round of golf with two-time Open champion Pádraig Harrington.
“Great to be reunited with my good friend Enda Kenny,” wrote Cameron, reflecting on their time in office and highlighting milestones such as the UK’s sovereign loan to Ireland during the financial crisis, and Queen Elizabeth II’s historic visit to Dublin in 2011.
The former Prime Minister added: “We encouraged many things to bring our two countries together. Yesterday, we were playing with the great Pádraig Harrington, who led us to our latest victory!”
Sunningdale, just outside London, is hosting the senior major for the fourth time since 2003.
