Legacy of former Mayo manager to be celebrated in home town
THE legacy of former Mayo manager John O'Mahony is to be celebrated in his home town at an event during the Ballaghaderreen Arts Festival next month.
Hosted by RTÉ Gaelic games correspondent Marty Morrissey, with a panel of GAA greats, A Life Lived on the Line will reflect on the legacy of John O'Mahony on the GAA and the future of Gaelic football.
The panel includes Padraic Joyce, Kieran McGeeney, Declan Darcy, Martin Carney, Fergal O'Donnell, John Maher, Tommy Rooney, Marc O'Sé and David McBrien.
John was a true champion of the people he served, both on the sporting field and in political life.
The event takes place on Friday, August 8, in St. Nathy's College, Ballaghaderreen, with doors open at 7 p.m.
