Milebush is host venue for three divisional cup finals this weekend.

Trio of cup finals in Mayo Women's League this weekend

IT'S a big weekend in the Eco Powered Cabinets Mayo Women's League, with three divisional cup finals being played in Umbro Park, Milebush, Castlebar.

Ballina Town play Achill Rovers this evening (Saturday) in the Division 2 Cup final, with Killala and Kiltimagh Knock United facing off on Sunday morning in the Mary Walsh Cup final before Castlebar Town attempt to take the Rumley Cup off holders Manulla to complete a double in the space of nine days.

Ballina Town go into their final as Division 2 winners and undefeated in the league this year. It's a historic day for Achill Rovers who have enjoyed a successful season in what is their first year in the women's league, and it bodes well for the future of women's football at the club.

The Division 1 Mary Walsh Cup final features holders Killala and Kiltimagh Knock United. Always a good tussle between these sides at various ages over the years, the teams on this occasion are fairly evenly matched.

This is Killala's third final in three years and they'll be keen to retain their title, but they face a KK side on a consistent run of form and eager to bring some silverware back to CMS Park.

Having won the Premier Division title last weekend with a win over tomorrow's opposition, Castlebar Town will have their eyes on making it a double when they come up against Manulla on Sunday afternoon.

Town have been the in-form team this season, but Manulla won't be giving up the treasured Rumley Cup easily and are always up for the big occasion.
