Mayo's Seoda and Bofield Céilí Band to feature in Fleadh25 - na Cúigí on TG4

THE Fleadh Cheoil is back and for the time ever the world’s largest festival of Irish music, song and dance will be held in Wexford town.

For eight days the streets will be bustling with performers, music lovers and those competing at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. However, to compete at the All-Ireland finals in Wexford, one must first qualify through their province.

Over the course of this one-hour programme, na Cúigí presenters Doireann Ní Ghlacáin and Peadar Ó Goill will travel the highways and byways, taking viewers on a trip across the four provincial finals in Ballinasloe, Drogheda, Cork city, and Warrenpoint, to catch up with some of our top and emerging musical talent.

Mayo's Seoda and Bofield Céilí Band will feature in the Connaught Fleadh.

Other featured artists include George Murphy and The Rising Sons, Cuan Ó Lorcáin, Fionnán Ó Daltúin, Tang Fiddle Group, Jill Devlin and Music Generation Waterford Harp Ensemble, Brian Cavanagh and Sinead Mulqueen, Muintir Emma Ní Laoire Bethan Marsh (Co. an Chlár) and Tim Howard (Co. an Chlár).

TG4 is once again at the heart of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, bringing viewers and live audiences an exhilarating four nights of music, competition, and celebration direct from Wexford Town.

‘Fleadh25’ promises the very best of Irish and international folk music, and will be broadcast from the TG4 TV Village from Thursday, August 7, to Sunday, August 10, at 9.30 p.m. nightly on TG4, and worldwide on www.TG4.ie.
