Passing of retired Mayo company nurse Olga Morrin is mourned
The death has occurred of Teresa (better known as Olga) Morrin (née Egan), St. John’s, Breaffy Road, Castlebar and formerly of Main Street and Rock Square, Castlebar.
Olga passed away unexpectedly at Mayo University Hospital last Saturday.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband Richard (Dick), a former elected member of Mayo Copunty Council, her parents Charles and Lillie (née O’Malley) Egan, her brother Eddie and sisters Patricia and Evelyn.
Olga will be sadly missed and forever loved by her sons Charles (U.S.A) and his wife Janice, Richard (Dublin), Padraig (Castlebar) and her daughter Malissa (U.K) and her husband Paul Vale, her cherished grandchildren Charlotte, Madeleine, Alexander and Marcus, her nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and her many friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
Olga worked as a company nurse in the Travenol/Baxter plant in Castlebar for over 30 years.
She was well known and will be fondly remembered by all her former work colleagues.
Olga was a deeply religious woman and she enjoyed meeting her many friends and all those who shared her passion for her church and they spent many hours together.
She loved her family dearly and they were the most important to her.
Olga will repose at Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, on Thursday from 6 to 7.30 p.m., with removal at 7.40 p.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, arriving at 8 p.m.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Olga will be laid to rest after Mass in the Old Cemetery, Castlebar, with her beloved husband Dick.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
