Charity cycle from Northampton will end in north Mayo today
A group of cyclists are back on the road this morning in the final leg of a charity cycle that has taken them from Northampton to Mayo.
They hit the road in Lisacul and will end their epic tour in Belmullet later today - the final 129.10 kilometres of a 700km plus ride.
The cyclists, who include some based locally in Mayo and Roscommon and also the UK, are raising funds for the work of the McCarthy-Dixon Foundation in Northamptonshire, and also six charities supporting communities in Mayo and the northwest region - Erris Youth Disability Network (EYDN), Erris Family & Community Support Centre (EFCSC), Erris Heartbeat Defibrillator, Cara Iorrais, and CLG Béal an Mhuirthead, and also North West STOP.
They received a great welcome when they arrived in Lisacul yesterday evening.
Today's final leg has departed Lisacul, taking in Kilkelly, Swinford and Ballina and onwards on the N59 to finish in Belmullet.
