Knitters support Mayo library's 50th anniversary Storytime chair project
KNITTING and crochet needles have been out all around the country to support a Mayo library's 50th anniversary Storytime chair project.
Westport Library has issued a special 'thank you' to all the knitters and crocheters who have provided squares for the library's Storytime chair.
Squares have come in from all corners of the county, and the country, as part of a fun appeal launched earlier in the year to mark the Westport branch's 50th year.
The squares of 15cm will be knitted together to provide a new and colourful cover for the special chair and will add to the warm and welcoming atmosphere in Westport's busy public library.
If there are enough pieces left over, they will be used to create a Storytime rug for special Storytime events, so there's plenty of time left to call in to the library and collect some wool to get you going and contribute to the project.
