This year’s outstanding recipients are: David Hegarty, St. Gerald’s DLS College, Maeve Kelly, Davitt College, Markus Senzel, Davitt College, and Ishran Mannan, St. Joseph’s Secondary School.
The Student of the Year Awards recognise exceptional young people in Castlebar’s secondary schools who have demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, leadership, personal growth, and community contribution.
The Chamber is especially proud to support these awards with a meaningful prize that reflects the organisation’s commitment to investing in the next generation of leaders and changemakers in the region.
"We’re thrilled to be recognising these four outstanding students at Accelerate 2025," said Anne Conlon, president of Castlebar Chamber. "Their achievements are not only a reflection of their talent and determination, but also a reminder of the extraordinary potential we have in our schools and community.
“The Chamber is honoured to support this initiative, and we see it as a vital part of our commitment to leadership, education and future prosperity in Castlebar."
The awards will be presented during the Accelerate event, which brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, educators and innovators for an evening of inspiration, conversation, and celebration of excellence in the region, which is a lovely link to our future entrepreneurs with our entrepreneurs of today.
