In her role as senior occupational therapist (OT), Jordan will focus on providing high-quality, evidence-based assessment and therapy intervention to children with a range of developmental and additional needs. Commenting on the appointment, Karen Leigh, founder and CEO of Sensational Kids, said: “I am delighted to welcome Jordan to our centre in Claremorris as senior occupational therapist. With a strong background in occupational therapy, Jordan brings a wealth of expertise in providing occupational therapy with complex disabilities and assessments for children with additional needs.

"Occupational therapy (OT) provides supportive intervention which assists children in being able to engage optimally and function independently within their varied daily environments, with their family members and their peers.

"Occupational therapy plays a vital role in the development of functional independence in children. OT helps children to develop the skills they need to perform their everyday ‘occupations’ of playing, learning, and engaging socially.

"At Sensational Kids, our wonderful team of occupational therapists can help children develop important skills to participate fully in daily living activities at home and at school. Research informs us that timely intervention allows for better outcomes for children of all abilities.”

Jordan Cannon said: “I’m delighted to join as senior occupational therapist at Sensational Kids. The work that Sensational Kids do is critical to all the children and families around the country who need help and support. I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to utilise the resources available in the Claremorris centre, such as in the sensory gyms.

"I value the opportunity to support children in meeting their goals in a child focused and family centred manner. I very much look forward to welcoming and supporting children and their families here in our Connaught centre.

"Every child deserves to be supported to become the best version of themselves that they can be. Timely intervention from impactful services when and where children need them is a key priority for Sensational Kids and one that I wholly support.”
