Johnny McCormack hosts his seniors captain's prize at Castlebar Golf Club
JOHNNY McCormack's seniors captain's day at Castlebar Golf Club on Friday last proved to be a great success, with over 90 members and visitors playing.
The ladies section was won by Maria Needham, with John Ruane claiming the top spot in the men's competition.
A lovely evening was held at the clubhouse after where the presentation of prizes took place followed by fabulous entertainment from Noel Feeney and his band. Many of the senior members have fine vocal talent as well as golfing prowess and added to the occasion with their renditions.
Ladies results: 1st Maria Needham, 2nd Ann McGovern, 3rd Mary Mac Donald, 4th Kay Mulroy, 5th Bríd Healy, 6th Madeline Cunnane, 7th Mary Bourke, 8th Anne Quinn Walsh, 9th Ann Barker, 10th Mary Martin.
Gents: 1st John Ruane, 2nd Brendan Cribbin, gross Pat Halligan, 3rd James Rocke, 4th John Queeney, 5th Gerry Needham, 6th Paddy O'Brien, 7th Jim Tiernan, 8th Stephen Verity, 9th Joe Beirne, 10th Eamon Callinan, 11th Noel P. Feeney, 12th Padraic Martin, 13th Michael O'Brien,14th Pat Healy, 15th Tommy O'Malley.
The past captain's was won by Michael Murray, with Anne O'Sullivan and Ronan Waldron taking the 'visitors' prizes.
