Taxi rank issues continue in Mayo county town

ILLEGAL parking in taxi ranks in Castlebar continues to be an issue.

It was raised again at the monthly municipal district meeting, where Councillor Harry Barrett said taxi operators continue to face an ongoing problem with people parking in ranks.

He suggested the council write to the gardaí to ticket offenders.

Councillor Donna Sheridan suggested that painting the taxi ranks would make them more visible.

Taxi operators have been appealing for fair play, to allow them work and use the facilities designated for their operations.
