Uisce Éireann crews work to restore water to customers in north Mayo
Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a significant burst to a water main in Ballina town.
Customers in the town and surrounding areas may be experiencing a disruption to their water supply.
Crews have been able to divert supply to parts of the town. However, some customers will experience an outage or low water pressure throughout the day.
Repairs at Convent Hill are due to be completed later this evening. Following repairs, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
Uisce Éireann’s Colette Scahill assured customers that every effort is being made to ensure as many customers as possible continue to have water throughout the day before a full supply is restored.
“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers impacted for their support while our repair works are ongoing,” she stated.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. To register as a vulnerable customer or as an alternative contact, visit www.water.ie/vulnerablecustomer.
