Great sadness at passing of popular Mayo native
THERE is great sadness in his native Mayo and beyond at the death of Paul Quinn, Newcastle, Co. Down, and late of Lisgowel, Breaffy, Castlebar.
The funeral Mass for Paul, who died unexpectedly at Ulster Hospital, Belfast, is being celebrated this morning (Thursday) in Breaffy Church.
Paul was the family 'rock' and there has been an outpouring of support and condolences for his family at their loss.
Friends from his younger days in Castlebar have been recalling the good times growing up together, including the athletics scene, and fond memories from their youth and young adult days.
A true gentleman, always with a smile on his face, Paul was always helping people and he was a person held in great respect and affection by all.
Paul is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Majella, his heartbroken parents Sean and Mary, brother Kevin, sisters Joanne and Tracey, sisters-in-law Margo, Deirdre, Christina and Louise, brother-in-law Michael, his 11 nieces and nephews, Katie, Conor, Cían, Daniel, Vivienne, Bethany, Chloe, Luke, Ciara, Ciarán and Enda, cousins, relations, his many friends and best friend Brendan, to whom sympathy is extended on their loss.
Removal takes place from his parents residence in Breaffy this morning (Thursday) at 10 a.m. for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church, Breaffy. As a celebration of Paul’s life, the family have requested that bright colours are worn.
Paul will be laid to rest afterwards in Breaffy Cemetery.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
