High percentage of 500+ points achieved by LC students at top Mayo college

Scenes of great celebration have been witnessed at St. Gerald’s DLS College, Castlebar, today as the Leaving Certificate class of 2025 received their long-awaited results.

Despite a year marked by grade deflation nationally, St. Gerald’s students performed exceptionally well, with 35% of the cohort achieving over 500 points.

Principal Shaun Burke expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments, praising both their resilience and dedication.

“We are extremely proud of all our students. Their results are a testament to their hard work and the commitment of their teachers, ancillary staff, our SNA team, and their parents who have supported them throughout their school journey,” he said.

Students now look ahead to the next chapter in their lives, with many hoping to take up college offers and apprenticeships in the coming weeks.
