Four students surpassed the 600-point mark in the Leaving Cert examination at Mount Saint Michael Secondary School, Claremorris, with two students achieving the maximum 625 points.

Two south Mayo students gain 625 points in state exam

There is a jubilant atmosphere at Mount St Michael Secondary School in Claremorris this weekend as students and staff celebrated another outstanding year of Leaving Certificate results.

The class of 2025 achieved remarkable success, with a 100% pass rate in Maths, English, and Irish—a testament to the dedication of both students and staff.

Notably, four students surpassed the 600-point mark, with two students achieving the maximum 625 points.

Half of the entire Leaving Cert cohort scored over 500 points, placing Mount Saint Michael - well above the national average.

Principal Ciarán Ryan and deputy principal Ann Marie Concagh extended their congratulations and best wishes to all the graduates as they move forward with their future plans.

“It is yet again a fantastic year for Mount St Michael Secondary School,” said Mr. Ryan.

“Our LC students have performed above the national average, and we are immensely proud of their achievements.

"These results are a reflection of the students' hard work and the unwavering support of our dedicated staff.”
