Arrests in alleged serious assault in Mayo

GARDAÍ in Mayo continue to investigate a serious assault that occurred in the Tucker Street area of Castlebar in the early hours of Saturday, August 23.

This morning (Tuesday) gardaí arrested three males in connection with this investigation.

They are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at stations in the Garda North Western Region.

The man injured in this incident, aged in his 20s, remains in a critical condition at Beaumont Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
