Council to take over delivery on 35 vacant homes in Mayo village

MAYO County Council is taking over delivery on 35 vacant homes in Knock.

The update was provided ahead of today's Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District meeting, where Councillor Richard Finn has tabled a motion asking what progress has been made with the Department of Housing and an approved housing body in relation to the 35 vacant houses at Churchfield Lawns in Knock.

The council's housing director, Tom Gilligan, in a written response to his notice of motion, advised: “The approved housing body is unable to progress the scheme and Mayo County Council is progressing on the basis of taking on these units as part of its own delivery programme.”
